Come check out peak color on the first ever Fall Foliage Weekend in The Berkshires. On Friday, we'll take the train from Grand Central to Wassaic, and following a picnic lunch in Millerton, we'll ride to Great Barrington in the heart of the Berkshires.
Great Barrington is a charming home base with excellent options for dinner and sightseeing. We'll explore other towns in the area as well, like Stockbridge, Lenox, Alford and Sheffield. On Saturday, choose between two different routes (40 or 60 miles), both with plenty of leaf peeping and country vistas. Sunday, after a leisurely brunch, we'll ride back to Wassaic for the trip home.
Rooms are available to us at the Holiday Inn in Great Barrington at the discounted rate of $199/night for 2 nights. Each room has 2 queen beds (double up and save). This discounted rate is only valid for bookings until August 31st. RSVP now to receive the discounted booking link.
RSVP fee covers Bag Transport to and from the hotel, lunch on Friday and limited vehicle support throughout the weekend.
This ride starts and ends at Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan.

Hi Anuj - I understand thru David G. the deal is $199 for the room for BOTH nights and each room has 2 beds so they are easy to split. (or not). The hotel gave us a special link to use for booking. The link will be sent by email to all registered riders in the next day or two.

I just called them and outcycling rate is $199 plus tax per night for the room. Total is $444.56 per room for both nights.

I've had an accident recently which has compounded previous injuries. I need to take a break from cycling for a little while so I think I should bow out of this trip now especially as it's showing the ride is full. Can you help me take down my RSVP? It's not letting me do that. So bummed out.

FYI, I made my reservation today (I am a procrastinator!), and the best rate that was offered by the link was $281 per night. I assume it's just because they have very few rooms, but it could also have been that I missed something.

I actually won't be taking the train up with you all (I live in Hudson), so I'll drop off my luggage at the hotel in Great Barrington then ride down to meet you for lunch in Millerton. Any idea where in Millerton we should meet?

Kurt, we will meet for lunch at Veteran's Park at the corner of Main Street and Duchess Avenue in the middle of downtown Millerton. Those taking the train will probably start arriving around 1pm or maybe a bit before. It's around 30 miles from the hotel to the park. You might also think about parking your car at the Wassaic station for the weekend and doing the whole route with those arriving on the 12:16pm train, and then picking up your car there at the end of the weekend, though it might be nice to have a car in Great Barrington for the weekend.

Greetings John (& Jeremiah) here. Thanks so much for organizing, really looking forward to the trip!
We have a wedding Friday evening, hope to drive up to Barrington Friday night or early Saturday AM.
What's the Saturday-Sunday itinerary? (Assuming we'll have to retrieve the car from GB on Sunday) And what's the best way to coordinate? (At worst we can coordinate thru friends Sasha, Doni & Carson.)

Hello Berkshires trip riders. Hope everyone had good rides today. To confirm Dan and I will be at the Hotel from 9 - 10am tomorrow to collect bags for the 4:15pm train back to Manhattan.
In addition if you would like to shoot for the earlier train at 2:15pm, please check with Andrew H or Richard B. as I understand they are organizing bag transport for that train as well.
