Starting at the Little Neck LIRR Station, this ride meanders through through the various neighborhoods on the north shore of long island just east of Queens in Nassau County. There are lots of great views and places to stop to refeul as needed. We will grab lunch at Sweet Tomato in Oyster Bay. From there we will swing down through Old Westbury to take the North Service Road back to catch the LIRR back to the city in Douglaston (the last bit around the neighborhood in Douglaston is one of my personal faves).

This is a fun route that I would say is moderately challenging. There is a decent amount of elevation but no long sustained climbs. Please be aware that this is all road riding and at some points the road shoulder can be narrow. I plan to keep the pace around 16mph though due to the nature of the route some parts may be a little slower or faster. It's likely to be chilly and can be a little windy in the more open areas so be sure to dress accrodingly!
For those in Manhattan, there is an LIRR train to Litte Neck (Port Washington Branch) leaving Grand Central at 8:47 am. For those in Brooklyn/Queens, I am planning to catch it at Woodside Station in Queens at 8:59 am. It should arrive in Little Neck at 9:21 am. It is off-peak and bikes are allowed. I would recommend bringing a bungy cord to secure your bike if you can.
