2023 OutRiders route (note: 2024's route will change slightly but it hasn't been posted)
Join OutRiders for the best one-day Boston to Provincetown bicycle ride. This is a social ride and requires no fundraising. Even better, it is a weekend happening and a great way to kick off your summer vacation and bicycling season. We are a diverse group of people (mostly gay and lesbian, but all are welcome to the challenge). It is a serious ride, but many who go are also recreational riders who are looking to up their miles. All day long, you will be supported by an outstanding support crew and supplied with all that you need to cross the finish line.
Cyclists on this Ride will be challenged with varying terrain and weather. This is a long Ride that needs proper preparation and training. But, it is also an enjoyable and well-supported ride. The 5 rest/refueling stops along the way offer much needed water, food and support. You will have pleasant downhill runs and some seemingly endless roads that may not be as enjoyable to ride. You will see sand dunes, ocean, forest and highways. You will be surrounded by cyclists of varying riding abilities and will find others to ride along with. You will be riding alone at times. You will be in clusters at times.
Saturday morning: The Start
The starting point of the ride is in front of the Cyclorama Building of the Boston Center for the Arts, at the intersection of Tremont/Clarendon Streets in Boston's South End (see Google map).
Registration starts at 6:00am and ends at 6:30am. Knowing your rider number at sign-in will get you on the road faster. This information will be sent to you via e-mail after you register for the ride.

Saturday afternoon/evening: Arriving in Provincetown
The finish line is at the Surfside Hotel and Suites, 543 Commercial Street. There will be T-shirts, snacks and drinks available. You will be able to collect your bag here. This is a great place to hang out and welcome other riders as they finish. The finish line will be open until about 7:30 pm. The town of Provincetown will provide your evening's entertainment.
Sunday afternoon: Post-Ride lunch
After enjoying the sights and sounds of Provincetown and getting a good night's rest, join your fellow riders and volunteers for an informal get-together at noon at the Provincetown Brewing Company at 141 Bradford Street, about 3 blocks from Town Hall. They offer a variety of sandwiches, salads, and, of course, beer.
The directions are fairly complicated, so we will have road markers as your main guide. You will be following bright green triangles with a line through the middle. As you approach intersections, look for arrows. There should be two before a turn and a confirming one after. If you miss a turn, you could add unwanted mileage. Make sure if you are following someone that they are following the arrows properly. Be mindful that dirt or cars may obscure an arrow. If you haven't seen an arrow for a while, consult your map or return to the last arrow that you saw.
And again - I (Stephan) can't attend, but you really should!!!

I'm interested, is there OC traveling there?

I'm guessing that riders from NYC will bring their bikes on Amtrak?

Hi all.... Can you explain the logistics to get to Boston? Or is it find your own way?

Sorry if this wasn't clear - I'm probably unable to attend this ride myself unfortuntely. If you're interested in attending, I encourage you to carshare or take the Amtrak and consider sharing accomodations with other OC folks!

I assume most of those joining this ride have booked their accommodation in P'town already, but if you're still looking and want to share an airbnb to potentially save money, reach out!
