The approximately 14 - 20 mile (4 - 6 laps depending on how everyone feels) route features a picturesque, even in winter, 3.35 mile loop that runs along the interior perimeter. It's always car-free and has a dedicated bike lane at all times.
The group will meet at Grand Army Plaza (more specifically The Soldiers' and Sailors' Arch), the oval at the main entrance of Brooklyn’s Prospect Park, which was meant to provide a wide and picturesque approach to the park, by park designer Calvert Vaux (1824–1895). who also designed Eastern Parkway with his partner Frederick Law Olmsted (1822–1903).
Prospect Park is a great spot for intervals, since it's full of smooth corners (not a sharp turn in sight) and only one hill that's easily a big-ring style climb. We'll plan to stop for a small bite or drink afterwards on Vanderbilt Ave.
Return to Manahttan via subway, or by cycling back over the Brooklyn, Manhattan or Williamsburg Bridge.
