Scenic Connecticut Foliage Ride

Join us for a scenic ride through pastoral Connecticut landscape, 19th century villages and around a beautiful forest reservoir.
OutCycling is partnering with Sundance Outdoor Club for this ride. Last year, Sundance cyclists gave high ratings for this route which features varied topography along secondary roads with modest car traffic for appx. 28.6 miles over several hours. We will embark from the Southport Metro North Station and travel north toward Redding, passing around the edges of the Saugatuck Reservoir, through historic Weston and ending at the Westport Station. The colorful fall foliage should be close to its peak and this loop ride offers plenty of beautiful scenery with charming villages, rustic farms, and early American architecture. We plan to stop at a picture-perfect farmstand loaded with homemade pies, snacks, and coffee that would probably impress Martha Stewart. The topography includes some formidable hills, which we take slow and easy, as we keep a moderate pace with several rests along the way. Around mid-point, we will enjoy picnic lunch on boulders overlooking the reservoir. New members are especially welcome on this fun and social scenic bike tour.
Note: Please bring lunch/snacks as lunch options are rather limited en route.
