Learn the basics of Road Biking from shifting to cadence! In our first of 3 classes we will learn to ride together in a group. The golden rule of riding in a group is to remain predictable so your fellow riders know what you are about to do. We will do a short ride up the West Side Bike Path, about 10 miles up and back. Before the class I will give you a brief overview about water, nutrition, clothes, helmets, and clip in shoes. The point of these classes is to give you, the new rider, a chance to ask questions of someone of experience. Lets RIDE!!!!

Levaughn - the start is in Harlem. Larry's Freewheeling on 110th isn't too far away.

Hey Guys,
I didnt get out with you guys last week due to a last minute personal conflict. I got out 2 weeks ago and got 20 miles done on the empire state trail in 1:28 with a 670ft elevation gain. I have been on peleton for the last year and average 18miles an hour on that, I have not gone out for any longer rides that 20 miles. Is it still ok if i jump in for this 10mile ride? I have not cycled as part of a group before.

Hello Stephen F, This is a beginner intro. If you not ridden in groups or you just have questions about why we where the closes we do, then this if for you. We also go over basic nutrition, bike saftey check and how to ride with traffic. The rides itself is not meant to be chalenging. It's just ment to get you in the saddle and fimilar with biking in a group.
