We'll start on Wards & Randalls Island and start by taking the Bronx River Greenway (and surface streets) to Bronxville and then ride over to Larchmont. If you haven't ridden in this area before – parts of it are simply gorgeous. We'll all stop for a bit at Umbrella Point in Larchmont which overlooks Larchmont Harbor (🎥). If we're lucky the Larchmont Yacht Club will be setting sail for their Saturday races. Everyone will also go past Premium Millpond which is über picturesque.
77 mile riders get to see a lot more of what makes Westchester County so special – you'll see quite a few yachts and mansions on this ride. Some of the hightlights are the areas near Westchester Country Club (🎥), Dogwood Lane (🎥), Tide Mill Yacht Basin (🎥), the American Yacht Club – they're just stunning. If you grew up in the area you'll have a bit of nostalga as you ride past Playland.
If you did this ride last year, the route back from Rye has been changed substantially. Instead of coming though Mount Vernon you'll come through New Rochelle. The core part of the ride ends at Pelham Bay Park where you can take the subway or do a 10+ mile urban ride to Wards & Randalls Island.

That gets you to Pelham Bay Park at which point you can take the 6 train, or take one of the following routes back to Manhattan…
