Safety & Rider Behavior

To ensure everyone’s safety and maintain a positive reputation for the cycling community, all riders are expected to act as responsible road users by strictly obeying all traffic laws and signals. All riders must wear a helmet.

When navigating busy thoroughfares or roads lacking shoulders, please ride in single-file to allow vehicles to pass safely. Always yield at stop signs, descend with caution to maintain control, and stay vigilant for hazards like train tracks or potholes.

Riders may listen to audio but may not ride with more than one headphone/earphone in. You must have one ear open to the road.

Above all, practice courtesy and patience toward fellow cyclists and drivers alike; clear communication through hand signals and a respectful attitude help prevent conflict and keep the roads safe for everyone.

Riding Groups & Marshals

Cyclists attending this event are highly encouraged to ride with a buddy or in a group. Riding together is especially beneficial for first-timers, those seeking a more social experience, and anyone who might need a little extra help with navigation along the route.

Let a volunteer know if you would like help identifying another ride or group to ride with.

Ride Marshals will be wearing a neon yellow armband and riding along every route to keep you moving safely. Our dedicated marshals will try and assist with basic on-the-road bike maintenance and coordinate emergency responses if needed.
